WPD Hackathon
Do you and your class or group have ideas that could shape the future of the port? During the World Port Days, students get to work on real challenges from the port. Not a fictional assignment from a textbook, but real-life issues from practice.
The port is facing major challenges. Think of the energy transition, new technologies, safety issues, and the future of work. Young people look at these questions differently. That is precisely why their ideas are valuable, and why the World Port Days provide space for them.
During the Hackathon, students work in teams on a challenge set by a company, organization, or port partner. They are given the space to think creatively, collaborate, and showcase their skills. Together, they explore a problem, develop solutions, and present their ideas to a professional jury. And of course, there are great prizes to be won!
What can your class expect?
✓ Working on a real-world challenge
✓ Collaborating with students from other programs
✓ Coaching from professionals in the field
✓ Pitching to an expert jury
✓ Networking with companies and organizations
✓ A chance to win great prizes and make valuable connections
Who is it for?
The Hackathon is intended for students in higher education who are curious, enjoy collaborating, and want to help shape the future of the port. All fields of study are welcome: engineering, logistics, business, ICT, communication, safety, or any other discipline — every perspective counts
